Jamie and Cherron Page grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL just a few miles from each other as children and through high school. They both grew up in Catholic homes, though their religion was cultural at best. Really, they grew up un-churched like so many young adults across the country.
They began dating after college and, soon after their dating relationship began, they started attending a small Baptist church in Wood Dale, IL, a church planted by Jamie’s grandfather, and other families, who had moved from Kentucky and found almost no Baptist influence in Chicagoland. It was there, in the late 1990’s, that Jamie and Cherron heard the Gospel for the first time. They were brought to new life in Christ at that church, were baptized together in that church, and in March of 1999 they were married in that church.
Soon after marriage, Jamie began to feel a strong call to ministry. Within two years, Cherron and Jamie found themselves in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. Jamie graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006. In Jamie’s last class, a missions elective, his vision for ministry after seminary became clear. While he intended to go back and help First Baptist Wood Dale, he became overwhelmed by the lack of significant churches in Chicagoland. God had given Jamie a heart for church planting, allowing Jamie to realize how his giftedness and talents fit the role of a church planter.
Moving back from Texas to Illinois, Jamie and Cherron pursued church planting. They were assessed positively by the North American Mission Board through the Illinois Baptist State Association and have been trained as church planters by NAMB and IBSA. They have served the last three years as church planters in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Jamie and Cherron have two children, Noël (2 years) and Calvin (1 year).
